Manchester United Ltd Cl A (NYSE: MANU) and its official blockchain provider Tezos Foundation have recently been accused of copyright infringement in relation to their Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collectibles. The $3.77 billion valued football club has been expanding its revenue collection avenues since the onset of the coronavirus, which significantly slashed the company’s profits.
Earlier this month, Manchester United debuted its NFT collectibles, composed of 7,777 digital collectibles. Unfortunately, it was not long before Lucrece, an NFT artist, noticed that the collectibles shared most of their unique traits with his monster artwork. In response to this, Lucrece announced that he is in contact with Manchester United to amicably resolve the existing issues for the betterment of the Tezos community.
The Manchester United NFT collection costs £30 including VAT and gives the holder a chance to unlock rare devils. Nonethels,s it is also important to note that the collectibles are not limited to just digital art, but also include exclusive rewards such as access to player signings, match-day experiences, VIP tickets, and much more.
